Director of Environmental Education, St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center
St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center is looking for a Director of Environmental Education.   This senior level management and teaching position is primarily responsible for the Barrier Island Environmental Education program.  The Barrier Island Program provides public and private school students the opportunity to learn about and experience nature in a way that is hands-on, memorable and fun.  This program which began in 1980 now impacts over 9,000 students annually by giving them the chance to discover the scientific world with all of their senses in an open and encouraging environment with lessons in biology, ecology, conservation, astronomy, botany and much more.  Barrier Island’s sessions run throughout the academic school year. Schools come for either 3 day or 5 day sessions. The Director is annually responsible for hiring and training a team of  at least 13 Naturalists.  All Naturalists live in community in residence at St. Christopher from mid-August through early May, with the Director sharing responsibility in assisting in their discipling and the ordering of their common life.  Learn more about this opportunity.  Applications are being received now in hope of filling this position by May 2018.  Apply now.

St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center seeks conservative evangelical Christian Naturalists each school year to work with the Barrier Island Environmental Education Program. St. Christopher is run by the Diocese of South Carolina and is located 25 miles south of Charleston on Seabrook Island. The campus includes nearly one mile of beach, 100 acres of salt marsh, 200 acres of undisturbed maritime forest, two freshwater ponds, and a freshwater swamp.
