HIV/AIDS Healing Service, St. Stephen's, Charleston, November 30
Bishop Lawrence will preside and be the Celebrant at the Diocese’s annual HIV/AIDS healing service on Sunday, November 30, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Charleston. The healing service will include laying-on of hands and Holy Communion. Service music will feature organ and harp; the service commemorates World AIDS Day (December 1). All are welcome! Jesus: The Hope of Israel Conference, December 5-6
On December 5 and 6 Trinity Church, Myrtle Beach, will be hosting Messianic Rabbi David Levine who will teach on the relationship between Jesus, the early Christians, the Old Testament and how those relationships are relevant today. The advance registration fee which includes, dinner Friday night and lunch on Saturday is $25 per person for both days or $12.50 per day. Day of registration is $30/ $15. "Blue Christmas" Services Offered by Grace Church, Charleston, December 10 and St. Bartholomew's, Hartsville, December 17
While Christmas is a joyous time for many, it can be a difficult time for those who are grieving, suffering a loss or experiencing depression. When we hurt at Christmastime, it can help if we have a way to acknowledge our sadness and concern, and be assured that we are not alone. Both Grace Episcopal Church in Charleston and St. Bartholomew’s in Hartsville offer such a way with Blue Christmas Services.

Drop-in Open House for Clergy of the Diocese, December 12
All clergy of the diocese are invited to attend an Open House at the home of the Bishop and his wife, Allison, on Friday, December 12. The drop in is in celebration and thanksgiving for the clergy of the diocese. The drop-in will be held in the Lawrence's home, at 50 Smith Street from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Clergy are asked to phone in their regrets if they will be unable to attend, (843) 722-4075.

Holy Trinity Offers "Sounds of Joy Christmas Concert, December 14
Holy Trinity in Charleston is offering their second annual “Sounds of Joy Christmas Concert,” Sunday, December 14 at 6 p.m. Admission is free. A love offering will benefit HALOS (Helping and Lending Outreach Support) and support abused and neglected victims assisted by the Charleston County Department of Social Services. The Wayfaring Singers, under the direction of Robin Rogers, will be an integral part of the concert; and there will be special guest soloists. A reception will follow the concert. 218th Diocesan Convention, March 12-13
The 218th Diocesan Convention will begin Thursday evening, March 12 at 5 p.m. with a Eucharist at Christ Church, Mt. Pleasant. Following the service we will adjourn to Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant for a reception on the Yorktown. On Friday, March 13 registration will begin at 7 a.m. at Christ Church and the business session will begin at 9 a.m. with opening prayers. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided on Friday. Visitors are welcome, but space is limited. More details will follow.
Prince George, Winyah, Plantation Tours and Tea, April 3-4
The 62nd Annual Plantation Tours of plantations and town houses in and near Georgetown will be held April 3 & 4, 2009. The majority of the plantations and town houses are privately owned and graciously shared with the Episcopal Church Women of Prince George, Winyah, Parish once a year.
