All clergy are urged to attend a special workshop on addiction and grace October 18, 2007, hosted by the Addiction Recovery Commision. Held at St. Philip's Church, Charleston (142 Church Street) the workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Rev. Dr. William "Jay" Geisler, St. Stephen's Church, McKeesport, Pennsylvania will be the keynote speaker. Known for his dynamic teaching and effective work in this area, Jay will guide us through a series of topics including, "The Problem of Addiction," "The Christian Origins of 12 Step Spirituality,"The Sermon on the Mount and the Way of the 12."

Prior to the conference, at 6 p.m. on Wednesday October 17, a service of prayer, fellowship and education will be held at Church of the Holy Communion. Following a sung Eucharist, enjoy a pizza supper and informal lecture and question/answer session on "Addiction & Grace." The event is free and open to all.
