"The sole object...shall be the spread of Christ's Kingdom among men." So reads the Act of Incorporation passed by the U.S. Congress and signed by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1908. This has been the object of The Brotherhood of St. Andrew since our founding in 1883. Our sole object soon established the Brotherhood as the Evangelism arm of the Episcopal Church, with a history of beginning hundreds of mission churches, many maturing into parishes. It was our sole object that led to Brotherhood missionaries establishing the Episcopal Church in the Philippines. Our sole aim establishes us as an evangelism ministry, seeking to bring all men to a personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We believe: The Saving grace of Jesus Christ through the cross, The authority of Holy Scriptures, The power of the Holy Spirit, and the fellowship of all believers.

Faith Alive is a gentle, thoroughly Episcopal program that provides a special time for each of us to re-examine the promises that we made, or were made for us, at our Baptism. The Faith Alive Weekend is primarily a time to rethink what these promises mean to each of us. Faith Alive is not a teaching ministry. There will be no lectures. It is a time to enhance our relationship with God and each other in the body of Christ experiencing the power of prayer, joy of worship in music and song, and the strength of Christ centered fellowship. For more information, applications, etc., contact Cranwell Boensch, Diocesan Faith Alive Representative, telephone: (843) 538-5278

What is the 1670 Legacy Society?
The 1670 Legacy Society was created by Bishop Edward Salmon to honor the legacy that we have been given in this Diocese. For over three hundred years in good times and in troubled times legacies have given us the firm foudation we have today and have instilled in us a desire to build faithfully on that foundation assuring the future work of the Gospel. God's giving in Jesus Christ is the source of our giving for the future. For more information please contact Mrs. Nancy Armstrong at the Diocesan House.

The Order of St. Luke the Physician was founded in 1932 by an Episcopal priest to restore the ministry of healing to its proper place in the Christian Church today. We believe that every local church should become a center for an intentional and informed ministry of prayer for both physical and inner healing. We offer resources and training for all who would seek to "touch the hem of HIS garment" or to be enfolded in Jesus" love or who would teach others to do so. Start a Chapter and learn more. If you would like answers to the questions: 1. What is the Order of St. Luke the Physician? 2. How to start a new OSL Chapter? Please contact the OSL Lay Representative Mr. Lee F. McVay for the state of South Carolina at the numbers above. He will be happy to come and speak about OSL and starting a chapter.

The Kairos experience begins with a three-day short course in Christianity, Thursday evening to Sunday afternoon. The weekend is attend by forty-two residents, chosen by the Chaplain and the Warden. Every attempt is made to include both the positive and negative leaders of the prison population.
